We have reason to believe the hospital will begin destruction of the Prouty Garden on a weekend morning this spring. Therefore, every Saturday in April (and possibly longer) we will be gathering at the hospital to keep watch over the garden and continue spreading awareness through our presence, including this Saturday, April 9th.
We urge all of our supporters to come to as many Saturday events as possible, for as little or as long as you are able! Members of our group will be on site as early as 6 am. The 6:45 - 7:15 am window is a busy time outside the hospital with the shift change.
Please RSVP via email (saveprouty@gmail.com) or via Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/events/1146779632020136/) if you think you may be able to come this week.
We plan to meet on Longwood Avenue in front of the Hunnewell building. Feel free to make your own new signs (see FB event page for guidance), wear bright colors, pack snacks, bring your kids (!!), etc. This is a serious cause and a sacred space, but these are not solemn vigils. They are also about connecting with each other and celebrating the magnificent Prouty Garden.
They are about helping sick kids find the healing that only nature can provide.
REMEMBER: Please spread the word to patients, families and staff inside the hospital to BE OUR EYES AND EARS. If anyone sees signs of construction, specifically tree removal, in the Prouty Garden - please call or text us at (617) 383-7609 or email us at saveprouty@gmail.com.
Thanks for all your support over the years and we hope to see you all one Saturday this month!
